From my Charcoal drawings , and through experimenting with media using thick paint I found that thick paint was difficult to use with sharp tools such as cutlery, so i decided to make the top right drawing using only ink, water and a plastic knife and fork. I found the result to be simple but effective and dramatic with monochromatic contrast.

I repeated this process on an even larger piece of brown paper but this time I added white paint to heighten the places in the composition where the light hit. Using a medium toned paper gave the objects an increased sense of place, instead of floating in space.
