Hands of rest would be a striking composition to make, likewise cupped hands symbolise human sufferings and hunger which is relatable and striking to all of us. I wish to capture this empathy. Praying hands wouldn't stand up as nicely as the other two. I used a roll of Modrock plaster to cover the hands with sheets of modrock, which I activated with water. These machettes were successful. The structure and form of the hand stayed strong and clear. I then spray painted them rose-gold and black to accentuate the form.
