Projection
What I DId:
-
Glued down the pages of some old books
-
Spray-painted a board black
-
Stapled the books onto the board
-
projected my digital drawings of the book pages onto it
As shown in the photos below, the projector wasn't tailored to fit the board- instead it went over the top. this was inspired by Hodgkin's use of overlapping the frames. the projection idea came from Lucy Raven and the open books were greatly inspired by Ekaterina Panikanova.
I'm hoping to look at the videos combined together to represent my delving into drawing.
I cropped the videos and added music to them to almost make them a mock-up on a small scale of what the project would look like on a more grandiose and larger base.
one thing I did however, was place a book on the right in a slightly tilted fashion. on looking at the board, I couldn't stop myself from observing how it looked uncannily like a desktop. it reminded me of Daniel Spoerri, an artist who looked at table tops in Mumok, Vienna.
