Mass Art Gallery, Xi'ian
In a small gallery named Mass Gallery, which was almost impossible to find outside the gates of Xi'ian due to my lack of Chinese linguistic knowledge, all the works of art were named in Mandarin and I could not pick out a name for the lettering. Nonetheless, I can say that the small showcased crowds of clay people in china inspired me. it was so realistic, each tiny little figure hand crafted to have it's own personality, expression story. You would pick out children, women, old men, lovers, people throwing objects, playing games, eating, playing music, social groups and more. All the structures you would see in a large crowd of current Homo sapiens were presented by this clay and it intrigued me so much I chose three small figurines that stood out to me and coloured them in to almost feel and expand on their story.
